• Update to Shipping Rules and Charges for our EU Customers.

UPDATE: French postal services and customs do not seem to be charging any import fees for UK parcels as of 10 February. This may change at any time, but so far we have contacted a selection of French customers and all of them received their orders with no added fees.

We are still shipping to all of our EU customers

I thought I'd start with the good news!

A lot of UK companies have ceased trading to the EU, due to the major changes that have just come into force surrounding exports between the UK and Europe. At La Mort, we've been working flat-out since before Christmas to overcome the challenges we are now facing and to try and minimise the impact on our customers in the EU. This has meant completely changing the way in which we process orders and I'm relieved to say that it has paid off. If you live in the EU and you want to buy our clothing, you can continue to do so!

    Extra fees and customs charges

Sadly, the one thing we can't do anything about is the possibility of extra customs checks and charges that are now a reality for anyone ordering from the EU. I think it's only fair for us to try and break down and explain each one of these charges to make sure that before you buy, you know the final cost of your order.

This information is correct, as we understand it, but you should check on your governments website for further clarification and actual figures.

Charge Type When do I have to pay it? How much do I have to pay?
VAT Due on all orders with a total value (including shipping) of more than 22. A percentage of your order value based on your country's VAT rate.
CUSTOMS DUTY Only due on orders with a total value of over 150.
A percentage of your order value based on your country's duty rate and the product type.
    HANDLING
    FEE
May be charged by your country's postal service to handle your order. Not based on order value.  A flat fee specific to every postal service or courier.

Real-life examples of charges paid by our customers

The above information can be quite hard to understand, as we ourselves are finding, and the charges seem to only be applied in some countries some of the time. We are going to be adding a few real life examples below so you can see what some of our customers are actually paying.

    Customs checks

Packages that are sent from the UK to the EU are now subject to the same checks as those from other countries such as the US and Norway. If you have not received your order after a couple of weeks or so, it would be a good idea to contact your local post office to see if they are holding it. They should notify you about paying any charges due.

    Moving forward

Every one of our customers is equally important to us, no matter who you are and where you are from, and we'll continue to work as hard as possible to make sure that your experience with La Mort is as good as it can possibly be.

We hope that you continue to shop with us, and to wear our occult creations.
